16-Days of Advocacy For Gender-Based Violence

YWCA Mankato is proud to join forces with the Zonta Club of Mankato, contributing to the global initiative of 16 Days of Advocacy for Gender-Based Violence, spanning from November 25 to December 10, 2023.

In recognizing the pressing need to disseminate awareness and foster education within our community regarding gender-based violence, our collaboration takes on a heightened significance. Alarming statistics from a UN Women report reveal that 45% of women have either personally experienced or know someone who has encountered some form of violence against women. Moreover, a staggering 6 in 10 women express the perception that sexual harassment in public spaces has exacerbated.

The urgency of addressing these issues is paramount, and the 16 Days of Advocacy serve as a crucial platform for fostering understanding and instigating change. We encourage you to participate actively in this global movement by learning and taking action each day. Stay engaged and well-informed by following the Zonta Club of Mankato's Facebook page, where a diverse array of topics will be highlighted daily, ensuring a comprehensive exploration of the multifaceted aspects of gender-based violence. Together, let us contribute to a world where awareness transforms into action, and communities unite to eradicate gender-based violence.
