At the heart of the series is Financial Feminist by Tori Dunlap, which we’ll use as a workbook and conversation guide throughout our time together. Each session builds on the last, creating space for reflection, learning, and action—without shame, judgment, or gatekeeping.
At YWCA Mankato, we believe:
Financial empowerment is not one-size-fits-all
Knowledge is power—but community makes it stick
And systems matter just as much as spreadsheets
We recognize that women—particularly women of color, single mothers, and gender-expansive individuals—have been historically excluded from financial systems designed without them in mind. This series doesn’t ignore those realities; it names them, challenges them, and equips participants with tools to navigate and disrupt them.
This is more than a class.
It’s a space to ask real questions.
A place to unlearn harmful narratives about money.
A community committed to building financial confidence, clarity, and choice.
Because every woman deserves the resources, knowledge, and support to define financial success for herself… and the power to pursue it.
