At YWCA Mankato, we believe in empowering young minds and breaking barriers. Introducing Trades Trailblazers, an innovative program designed to inspire and equip 6th-8th grade girls with the skills and confidence to explore the world of trades.

2025-2026 Program Details!

YWCA Mankato is excited to announce our partnership with South Central Community College to launch the 2025-2026 Trades Trailblazers program, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at introducing middle school girls to rewarding careers in the trades!

Beginning in September 2025, this hands-on program will empower middle school participants with the skills and confidence to excel in traditionally male-dominated fields.

Program Highlights

Hands-On Learning:

Participants will gain practical experience in various trades, including carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, and more. Through guided workshops and real-world projects, students will learn the foundational skills necessary to thrive in the trades industry.

Empowerment and Confidence:

Trades Trailblazers aims to dismantle stereotypes and encourage young girls to pursue careers in the trades. By providing a nurturing and inclusive environment, we strive to build confidence and foster a sense of achievement in every participant.
